Plastic Films

Midwest Supply LLC is your one stop shop for all types of plastic films including shrink film, stretch film, LDPE/HDPE films, perforated bags, garbage bags and much more.

Stretch Film: Midwest Supply is your one stop source for any and all types of automatic and handheld packaging needs for stretch film. Stretch film is a type of plastic film that is commonly used to wrap and secure products for transport or storage. It is made from linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), which is a strong, flexible, and stretchy material that can be easily wrapped around objects.

While we typically would not recommend building a tent out of stretch film, its safe to say that there are many uses for stretch film! 🙂 Stretch film is often used in the manufacturing and distribution industries to wrap pallets of goods, as well as in retail stores to wrap products for display or transport. It can be applied manually using a handheld dispenser or automatically using a machine. Stretch film comes in a variety of widths, lengths, and thicknesses to suit different applications.

One of the key advantages of stretch film is its ability to stretch up to 300% of its original length without breaking. This allows it to conform tightly to the shape of the product being wrapped, providing a secure hold and protection against damage during transport or storage. Additionally, stretch film is resistant to punctures, tears, and abrasion, making it ideal for use in rugged environments.

Adhesives

Midwest Supply LLC supplies various these types of adhesives for specific industries. Heres a brief look at what we offer:

Hotmelt Adhesive:

Hot melt adhesive (HMA) is a type of thermoplastic adhesive that is melted and applied in a liquid state to the surface of a substrate. When the adhesive cools and solidifies, it forms a strong bond between the substrate and the material being adhered.

Hot melt adhesives are widely used in manufacturing and production applications because they offer a number of advantages over other types of adhesives, such as solvent-based adhesives or water-based adhesives. Some of the advantages of hot melt adhesives include

1. Fast bonding: Hot melt adhesives solidify quickly, allowing for fast production speeds and high throughput.

2. Strong bond: Hot melt adhesives create a strong bond between the substrate and the material being adhered, which can withstand a range of environmental conditions.

3. Versatility: Hot melt adhesives can be used to bond a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, paper, and textiles.

4. Clean and easy to use: Hot melt adhesives do not require solvents or water, which makes them clean and easy to use. They also do not produce harmful fumes or odors during application.

Hot melt adhesives offered by Midwest Supply are commonly used in a variety of industries, including packaging, woodworking, automotive, and textiles. They are used to bond a wide range of products, including boxes, cartons, bags, furniture, automotive components, and apparel.

Midwest Supply LLC serves hotmelt markets for the following:

Solvent Based Adhesive (Aerosol, IBC, Tins, Pump Systems):

Solvent-based adhesives are a type of adhesive that use solvents as a carrier for the adhesive ingredients. These adhesives are typically made from a combination of natural or synthetic polymers, resins, and solvents, which are mixed together to create a liquid or paste adhesive.

Solvent-based adhesives offer several advantages over other types of adhesives. They are known for their fast bonding times and their ability to create strong, permanent bonds on a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, and ceramics. They are also highly resistant to heat, moisture, and chemicals, making them ideal for use in industrial settings.

Solvent-based adhesives are commonly used in industries such as automotive, construction, and aerospace, where strong, permanent bonds are required. They are also used in the manufacture of consumer products such as footwear, leather goods, and textiles. Midwest Supply LLC offers solvent adhesives in aerosol cans, IBC, 5 & 10 gallon tins, and even provides complete turnkey pump solutions with spray gun applications.

PVA.c Adhesives:

PVA (Polyvinyl acetate) based adhesives are a type of water-based adhesive that are widely used in a variety of applications, including woodworking, paper and packaging, and construction.

PVA adhesives are made from a polymer of vinyl acetate monomer and water. The adhesive is usually applied to one surface and then the two surfaces are pressed together to form a bond. When the adhesive dries, it forms a strong, clear bond that is resistant to water, heat, and chemicals.

PVA adhesives have a number of advantages over other types of adhesives. They are easy to use, have a long shelf life, and are relatively inexpensive. They are also non-toxic and do not emit harmful fumes or odors, which makes them ideal for use in indoor environments.

PVA adhesives are commonly used in woodworking applications, such as the assembly of furniture, bedding, cabinetry, and millwork. They are also used in the paper and packaging industry for bonding paper and cardboard products. In construction, PVA adhesives are used for bonding drywall, plaster, and other building materials.
